Ted Spiker is professor and chair of the University of Florida Department of Journalism.  He currently teaches JOU 4311 Advanced Magazine Writing and MMC 3703 Sports Media and Society (#SportsMediaUF).

Spiker was named the 2016-17 Teacher of the Year for the University of Florida (representing 3,000 faculty). He is a two-time winner of the College of Journalism and Communications’ Teacher of the Year award.

Spiker has also taught Health and Science Writing, Applied Magazines, Finding Your Voice, Magazine Management, Feature Writing, Journalism and Literature, and many others. Before joining UF in 2001, Spiker worked as an adjunct at the University of Delaware and Lehigh University. He has served as moderator for events for ACCENT Speakers Bureau events, such as interviewing Abby Wambach and Alex Rodriguez for public appearances.
